We Need One

Friends of the Austin Planetarium

Austin is the largest city in the USA that doesn't have a plantetarium. Some folks are trying to fix that.

Saltacol

I found an extremely challenging game on the internet: Saltacol. Don't panic that the web site is in Spanish. You don't need to know Spanish to play it. Just click the large blue "Saltacol v1.0" at the top of the page to get to the game.

IBM vs. Mac

IBM vs. Mac

"The fact is that the world is divided between users of the Macintosh computer and users of MS-DOS compatible computers. I am firmly of the opinion that the Macintosh is Catholic and that DOS is Protestant."

You have to read the rest of it. Really, you do.

Diet Coke and Mentos

Extreme Diet Coke and Mentos Experiment

Auto-playing video with audio, just so you know. Well worth watching all the same.

Too Funny

Jacko is shocko at his associate's gay porno

Whether or not this is true at all, it's a hilarious read.

Neo-Nazis infiltrating the US military

Neo-Nazis infiltrating the US military

When I was attempting to join the army (a long time ago), I don't recall there being much of a background check of any sort for "grunts". No one ever asked me if I was a racist pig or not. I don't see how they'd know if someone was lying anyway, and it's hardly feasible to do a full background check, as in talking to neighbors/relatives/etc. like they would for a security clearance, for every single recruit.

Sigh

Keira denies anorexia rumours.

Just because someone is far skinnier than you are does not mean they are anorexic. I have had to deal with these sorts of accusations my entire life. It gets tiring.

No Kidding

U.S. Sees Possible Links Between Incidents in Iraq

No kidding? Several men from a platoon rape and Iraqi woman and kill her and her entire family, and someone thinks there might be a connection between that and the later kidnapping and killing of several soldiers from that same platoon. It was actually the first thing I thought of when I read about the rape/murders and it was mentioned it was the same platoon as the kidnapping/murders. Glad to know I wasn't the only one to make that connection.

Not on Macs

The 10 Most Destructive PC Viruses Of All Time

I managed to get none of them. In fact, I haven't gotten a virus at all since 1995 when I'd only had my computer for two weeks. After I learned that important lesson, I never had a problem again.
