Mendhi

A gallery of beautiful henna Mendhi work. Skin-painting, sort of. More like the most awesome temporary tattoo ever!

Morgellons

They've called them delusional for years, but finally, the CDC is looking into Morgellons Disease, and they are thinking about doing it in Texas.

Barton Springs

SOS Alliance: Audio Tour of Barton Springs

Albatros

Albatros is the latest video released by everyone's favorite Kiwi ... Kenno.

Warning, auto-playing YouTube video.

Body Habitus

"These images are limited due to body habitus."

On other words ... Americans are getting too large to fit into hospital testing equipment.

I'm trying to find ways to work the above quote into conversation. It's pure poetry.

Tower Search

Cell Phone Service and Tower Search: For those times when you really want to know where the closest tower is ... or, like my husband, want to bore your wife to tears by pointing out every single tower you ever built. It's useful for both.

Just ... Wow

The web site is in Russian, but don't panic. You don't have to read anything to be amazed by the amazing photos of the most realistic and yet odd sculptural figure work I have ever laid eyes on. I would describe it as spooky in a way. It's also Not Safe For Work.

Todai

It appears there's going to be a new sushi buffer in town at some point in the future: Todai is coming to Austin. I was initially thrilled, but with lunch prices ranging from "$12.95 to $16.95 and dinner from $22.95 to $27.95" ... I'm not so sure I'll ever go eat there. Seems just a bit pricey for what it is.

Bored at Home?

Bored at home? Create your own zoo: Proof there are people out there with WAY too much time on their hands. Two thumbs up! Hilarious!

Dancing Zombies

Zombies are being arrested for "suspicion of having 'simulated weapons of mass destruction.'".

Speechless. Sorry, I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried my best.

Stupid and Small-Minded

Can Muslims Be Good Americans? is an email forward that has been going around. I haven't gotten it from anyone yet, and woe be to the person who sends it to me in seriousness. Oh, it's funny ... in that "how can anyone be so stupid and small-minded" kind of way. The link above leads you to the full text and a thorough debunking.

Austin CarShare

The freedom of driving cars on demand: Austin CarShare.

1. Reserve a car using our online system.
2. Unlock the car with your Austin CarShare key fob.
3. Make your trip, and then return the car to the same location you found it when done.

I hope this takes off. This is a service I would use. I drive so seldomly, and for such short trips, it would be cool to pay just a little for a car that's got gasoline in it, isn't going to break down, and that I don't have to pay for or insure. It'd have to be convenient to get to the car though.
